about
The North German heavy metal band Mob Rules will release their new single "Hymn Of The Damned" on 21.04. via the label Steamhammer/SPV. The song was already written in 2019 as a dystopian story of a future that will hold many challenges for the world. But who could have guessed how quickly fiction and reality can resemble each other.
All the more reason why it is now time for this anthem. In an era when the world is facing various crises, Mob Rules wants to convey a message of hope and cohesion with their song. "Hymn Of The Damned" is not a song that glosses over the situation, but one that gives courage and strengthens faith in a better future.
"When we wrote this song, we wanted to tell a story. I love these parallel worlds like in Mad Max or Waterworld," explains singer Klaus Dirks. "We wanted to write something that gives hope and reminds us that together we can make a difference. Be it in a fictional world or the real world. A message that is becoming more and more important!"
lyrics
The echo almost fades
A sound of bygone eras
Remaining is the smell
Of time burned long ago
Cruelty, weariness, despair and misery
Your wicked companion, ready to prune your mind
We, we raise our hands, defy time that passes by
As long as we care, as long as we try
Singing the hymn of the damned in the end - our faith unbroken
Chanting the anthem of all crucified and forlorn - unbroken
Terminal breakdown, continuous hypocrisy
This is the chance, to leave it all behind
We raise our hands, defy time that passes by
As long as we care, as long as we try
Singing the hymn of the damned in the end - our faith unbroken
Chanting the anthem of all crucified and forlorn - unbroken
Singing the hymn of the damned in the end - our faith unbroken
Chanting the anthem of all crucified and forlorn - unbroken
Singing the hymn of the damned
The hymn of the damned
Of all crucified and forlorn
The hymn of the damned
